Could we be getting closer to making contact with ET? Maybe. Scientists have discovered the most earth-like planet yet, only 16 light years from the earth, orbiting a red dwarf star every 35 days. The planet is 5 times as massive as the earth and receives as much stellar radiation from its parent star energy as we do from our sun. And heres perhaps the most important part: Its within the habitable zone...not too hot, not too cold, a region where water could possibly exist as a liquid, and thats prerequisite for the origin and development of life forms as we know them, given along with water, the presence of other chemical precursors necessary for life. Well see. As Arthur C. Clarke said, were either all alone in the universe or we have company...and BOTH scenarios are equally frightening.
