Could you become a STARS Scholar? The STARS Scholarship Program - TopicsExpress

Could you become a STARS Scholar? The STARS Scholarship Program was created to assist students, who are parents or custodial grandparents, with college expenses that fall outside of most financial aid packages. The program is designed for Pottawattamie County residents that are low-income, full-time students pursuing a professional license or certificate, or an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree at an accredited school, college or university. Many STARS scholars attend area schools (Iowa Western, Metro, UNO, Bellevue, Buena Vista, College of St. Mary’s, EQ School of Hair Design, etc.) as well as online schools. These scholars are not only supported financially through the $2000 scholarship award, but also get much support from the other scholars in the program. Family activities, informational seminars, academic awards and more help keep scholars and their families energized and focused on learning. Scholarship Applications can be found at: commedfoundation.org/stars_application.php To be considered for this scholarship, you must meet the deadline – no exceptions: Deadline for the 2015 school year is Tuesday, September 30, 2014.
