Couldnt agree more on what he said. With this trend going on hotly around the world, ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, it is no longer a doubt how powerful celebrities along with the fast-spreading social media is nowadays. As much as I am amazed at how successful this challenge has brought the worlds attention towards the existence of this disease, it also got me thinking; Between wasting a bucket of cold water and donating 100USD to a good cause, how many would actually choose the latter? Between jumping up the bandwagon and really understanding the meaning and supporting the cause behind an act of dare, how many people actually took time to understand what ALS is? I am nonetheless impressed by those who took up the challenge at the same time donated and encourage others to donate together. Even more impressed at those who in the mean time enjoying the challenge, yet not killing the awareness of drought still happening around the world. I enjoyed watching key personalities sharing their video on accepting the challenge, but hoping the awareness towards ALS does not fade off as the Ice bucket challenge dies off! If you want to know; ALS stands for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, a disease that has yet to be found any cure where it slowly takes you off things you enjoy in life step by step, day by day. Be it running, dancing, singing, writing, eating or even breathing. Morrie Schwartz in Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom was diagnosed with ALS and hence the book, which I highly recommend should you have any further interest in knowing how ALS work on its patient and how a dying old professor lived more lively than any of us. Cheers.
