Council have given approval this morning for a large open pit to be constructed on Victoria Tce by the SA Water’s Sewer Upgrade project contractor. The pit is required as an access pit for a horizontal boring machine which is required to bore the sewer line under the Victoria Tce rail crossing. The pit will be 2.5m in depth and is adjacent to the western side of Victoria Tce. Existing council infrastructure will be fully reinstated upon completion by the SA water contractor. The pit whilst in use, will be surrounded by construction fencing and the side facing Victoria Tce will also be protected by water filled traffic barriers. Traffic restriction on Victoria Tce will remain in force whilst the pit is in use.
