Council will commence construction to enable the opening of Junction Court on Monday 26 May, with the project expected to take approximately four weeks to complete. In 2013 Council confirmed Junction Court would be opened to eastbound traffic at the October Ordinary Meeting. The upcoming works will see the removal of pavers and construction of a concrete ramp at the eastern end of Junction Court as well as the installation of an asphalt overlay at the intersection of O’Connell Lane and Junction Court. The project will also involve the installation of bollards, tactile indicators, traffic signage and line marking to provide delineation of vehicle and pedestrian areas. Mayor, Gash said the project had been designed to allow for the easy closure of Junction Court for full pedestrian access during special events while also enabling the existing taxi rank to remain in its current location.
