County To Remove Trees, Branches Knocked Down by Storm in Unincorporated St. Louis County Once again North St. Louis County was rocked by violent storms and the damage caused by them. On June 10, 2013 the County’s Department of Highways and Traffic will begin removing trees, branches and other vegetative debris wrenched loose in unincorporated North St. Louis County by last Friday’s powerful storm. Work will be restricted to the large pocket of neighborhoods in unincorporated St. Louis County – both north and south of I-270 - that was particularly hard hit by the tornado-force winds. Personnel with Highways and Traffic’s Division of Operations will remove any branches, chain sawed trunk sections, piles of sticks and other vegetative matter felled by the storm. As in past storm clean-ups, our County personnel will not enter private property so it is important that the debris be placed behind the curb but as close to the curb as possible. Additionally, St. Louis County will not remove construction debris – or any other non-vegetative debris. We won’t be picking up shingles, two-by-fours, siding or bricks. If a pile of branches is intermingled with roofing tiles or strips of aluminum siding, our crew will skip that particular residence - and the disposal process will be up to the homeowner.
