Couple of ales I tried in Town last night. Anarchy Brewing Co.- Blonde Star 4.1% A robust lager coloured lightly carbonated brew with very little head (served badly at Bacchus- barmaids fingers all over the rim). To me it was a traditional blonde- not very lagery, quite bitter and heavy on the hops with a satisfying sharpness. Nothing earth-shattering but a nice familiar ale which suited me fine. Summer Wine Brewery- Pacer Pale. Served well at Dat Bar with a sample given first. A 4.1% pinky session IPA. Served pumped and chilled with a nice level of carbonation. I found the cool serve just gave a little extra mouth enjoyment. Taste wise rather bitter and hoppy at first giving way to a tangy summer fruits flavour. A real snorter I had two pints where in an ale bar I normally enjoy chopping and changing. Smashing!
