This is a course that aims at improving your academic writing skills. First, the instructor will conduct a needs analysis for you and will determine your needs. Then, through a combination of workshops, lectures, videos, analysis of past students samples, and discussion on your own work, your writing performance will improve significantly. The topics we will be working with will be related to your interests and field of study. Lastly, the course schedule will be agreed upon by the instructor and learner(s). Who should take this course? Anyone who is interested in pursuing Undergraduate or Postgraduate studies at an English-speaking institution, or anyone who is currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Postgraduate program at an English-speaking institution. The minimum level of English required for this course is B2 (according to the CEFR). If you are not aware of your level, the instructor will ask you to do an online placement test. What makes this course unique? This is a fairly short course (22 contact hours) that has been carefully designed to be adaptable to each learners needs. This is NOT a ready-made course in which the instructor copy-pastes material that he has used in the past. Everything will be re-designed according to what you need so that you become better in writing academic essays. Why should learners enroll in this course? The instructor has been preparing learners for Undergraduate/Postgraduate studies for the past 8 years. In this course, learners will write a lot, they will review their own work, learn how to mark their essays before handing them in, and learn how to edit/improve them. The meat of this course will be the learners own work. Does the course prepare learners for any certification/exams? Yes. The course prepares learners for the IELTS Academic Writing test. Course Package: Number of Live classes : 11 of 2 hrs each Number of Videos: 05 Number of PPTs: 22 Number of Documents: At least 10 Number of Assignments: 10 Number of Online Tests: 05 Once the student enrolls, how soon can you start the course? After enrollment, the student arranges an online meeting with the instructor so that needs analysis and diagnostic testing can be conducted. Following that, they meet again to discuss the results of the needs analysis and diagnostic test, prioritize the learner’s needs and set a schedule for the online sessions. The first meeting will be arranged within 24 hours of the enrollment. For the second meeting, the instructor must collect the learners answers on the placement and the diagnostic tests. The second meeting will take place within 24 hours of the receipt of placement and diagnostic tests. The course can start anytime after the second online meeting. What topics would be covered in this course? Topics depend on the learners interests and fields of study. After needs analysis results are discussed between instructor and learners, they will decide on course topics together. Would there be a book/ study material recommended as part of the course? No, the materials we will use will be designed by the instructor and will be different for each learner. The goal of this course is that it suits learners individual needs in all respects.
