Judge: The prosecution is seeking to reopen the case against you regarding the falsification of your age to give you undeserved access to the speakership of the House of Representatives. Do you understand that? Salisu Buhari: I understand the case, Your Honor, but I did not falsify my age, Your Honor. Judge: So, what happened? What did you do? The age you declared is at variance with your real age as can be calculated from your birth certificate, which I have in front of me. Salisu Buhari: Your Honor, I did not falsify my age. What I did was to use a calendar other than the Gregorian Calendar in calculating my age for the speakership position. I simply rebased my age.
