**Courtesy Post*** Felv+ kitten looking for a home!! We recently found a kitten outside an abandoned house. He was in rough shape and did not have use of his back legs. After bringing him to the vet, they confirmed he was malnourished, had been attacked by another animal, and one of our worst fears, he had Feline Leukemia. We already had two rescued animals (Gizzmo our cat who was thrown out of a moving truck at 2 weeks old and has been with me ever since and our dog Rover who was tied up and left in someones back yard while they moved and left him). Due to us already having a cat, we cannot keep Chance as the possibility of spreading the leukemia is there. At the vets office, we asked if Chance was in any pain. The answer was no, so my answer to the vet when they asked if we would rather put him down, was no. I am a cancer survivor, and i cant imagine putting anything down just because of a diagnosis. The vet confirmed Chance could have several healthy years ahead of him. The vet also stated that his back legs would need to be amputated around 4 months old (same time as getting him fixed). We have brought Chance back to health and all of his wounds have healed. He is almost done with his antibiotics. We (myself, my husband, and my amazing family) are willing to help pay for the vet bills and the amputation, however, we are desperately searching for someone who would be willing to take Chance. It feels unfair to keep him isolated to one room in our house. He loves dogs (he and Rover get along wonderfully). Maybe there is someone out there who is willing to make his life, the best possible? Is there anyway you might be able to help us by posting about Chance on your website and/or facebook page? As i mentioned before, we are willing to assist with vet bills and his leg amputations.
