An Education Minister who cites a 5 day course at Yale as a coveted degree, replaces German with Sanskrit in the middle of the academic year. A Cabinet Minister who tells us youre either a Ramzada or a Haramzada. Another who wants all Modi opponents to settle down in Pakistan. A rape-accused Cabinet Minister avoiding court appearances, absconding from the police in the BJP-ruled of Rajasthan. A party chief facing charges of murder, and conspiracy in the Kausarbi abduction, rape and murder case, celebrated for his electoral strategy, seen now as the 2nd most powerful man in India. Ideologues who celebrate the end of 800 years of slavery before finally India has a Hindu rule. Rabble rousers inciting violence not just to create polarisation for electoral gains, but as an expression of their own heartfelt visceral hatred. And now this! Aligarh chosen to show the Hindu might in a Muslim town, Christmas Day chosen to send a message to Christians... So, all you aspirational India voters, is this the India you aspire for?
