Coutesy: Satyasri Ukil: This is Md. Yasin Pathan. A resident of a small village called Pathra, about 12 km from Medinipur Town, West Bengal. Fighting against all odds, this extra-ordinary man almost single-handedly helped to restore a number of Hindu temples in the village of Pathra. He is a recipient of a number of prestigious awards from highest levels (including from the President of India). But a lone & difficult fight against all sorts of odds one can imagine, & that too for nearly 40 years, has taken a grave toll of his health. A frail man, with serious heart & kidney problems, this former class-IV staff of a school, is now at a helpless stage. For the urgently required heart surgery, he needs a lot of money, but sadly, no source of it. It will be a national crime, particularly for the people of West Bengal, if this man, an icon of Hindu-Muslim amity & a self-less soldier towards the protection of our National heritage remains unaided.
