Cranium Spotlight: Every American - not just the Neo-Cons it is addressed to - need to read this sobering letter from a patriot and veteran whose facing the end of his life due to his service in Iraq. It should also be digested by those who continue to support and defend the Presidency of George Bush and Vice Presidency of Dick Cheney. It may not change your political ideology - after all, its much more of an emotional appeal than it is a ideological - but it should bring some humility. Recently there has been a ridiculous chorus from the Republican fringe about impeaching President Obama for reasons that could only be characterized as racist, reactionary, ill-informed and scary reframes. During the Presidency of George Bush, I never called for his impeachment. I cant remember many of prominent leaders of the Progressive movement in America that did. We respected the ideal that an election determined who became President (albeit a Supreme Court decision did in his first election) and that, as a nation, we had to live with the decision we made. I do believe, however, that during their time in the White House our nation suffered greatly. Far greater than most any other time in our history. By the end of the Bush era, our country was involved in two unnecessary and unwinable wars, in utter financial collapse and economically devasted. I remained shocked by those who voted for them twice even have the audacity to rant the way they do. Rather, I think they should be humbled by just how grossly wrong their vote was. So, yes, I do believe all Americans should read this letter. And when we hear Dick Cheney on Fox News - we become horrified by whatever he has to say. And we loudly and clearly denounce him for who he is and what he promulgates.
