Craobh Rua Camlocha Face Antrim Champions in Ulster Club Final Craobh Rua Camlocha hurling Club, will this Sunday (27th October) face the highly fancied Antrim champions Ciceam an Creagan (Creggan Kickhams) in the Ulster Club Championship Junior Hurling final. The match will take place in the Athletic grounds, with throw in timed for 2-30pm. The Armagh Champions have a diverse mix of experience and youth and this combination has seen them defeat Killeavy and Lurgan Sean Treacys to win the Armagh title and despite being underdogs in both games progress to the Ulster Final bt defeating Monaghan Harps and Shamrocks of Derry. Team manager Patrick Brady who himself gave many years service to the Club as a player stated The team is in an Ulster final by merit. They have worked hard and richly deserve their chance to create sporting history. This squad of hurlers owe us nothing, they have defied all expectations. We have put our heads down, stuck together, played as one and proudly take our place in an Ulster Final Chairperson of Craobh Rua Raymond Watters said that the sporting exploits of the hurling Club had lifted the community. Everyone I have talked to is so proud of what our Hurling Club has achieved. It has created an air of pride and excitement, not only within our Club but throughout the Community. We were established in 1991 and our appearance in this Ulster Final is dedicated to all those over the years who worked tirelessly to ensure the continued development of Craobh Rua and the game of hurling. Raymond concluded by stating The Club have received good luck messages from many clubs and individuals from throughout the area. Tipperarys all Star all Ireland goalkeeper Brendan Cummins and Clare All Ireland Team Manager Davy Fitzgerald being amonst those who wished them well. Craobh Rua deeply appreciate all the support it has received.
