** Crawl Artist Spotlight! ** Franklin Haws, digital illustrator Franklin Haws is a graphic designer turned digital illustrator, and is one of the participating artists in this year’s Crawl! Today we’re spotlighting Haws and a sampling of his eye-catching work. Working exclusively with Corel Painter and Adobe Photoshop, Franklin creates colorful illustrations ranging from retro cars to childrens book illustrations of space creatures. Haws is inspired by 20th century illustrators, such as J.C. Leyendecker and Norman Rockwell, two infamous illustrators of The Saturday Evening Post. One can see their influence in the humorous expressions of some of Haws’ subjects, especially “Fishy Still Life” and “Deep Friends”. Franklin Haws can be found at franklinhawsartwork. When you check out his site, you’ll not only be able to see his portfolio of work, but you’ll also be able to connect right to his online shop. A person could get any of his work printed on a coffee mug, t-shirt, iPad case…even a lunch box! Note to self: Haws original art on functional pieces…such a fabulous and unique gift idea! (Bookmarking his site as we speak). Franklin is also on Twitter where you can find him at @franklinhaws. Stay tuned for Franklin’s location for this year’s 2014 Crawl!
