Ruled a suicide by French police, her body made its way to the mortuary where the mortician became enraptured with her beauty. He took her body and had a cast and mold made of her body and face. Others saw the mold of her beautiful face and asked for their own copies. Dubbed the Lady of the Seine casts of her face appeared all over France and Germany. Later, a Dutch toy maker needed a face for a doll he was making and used a casting of the Lady to make it.
