Crew today was again, Wonderful... taking on two Orlando lakes, Lake Cherokee and Lake Davis, to rid them of dangerous debris. We brought in only a couple bags, but in that were a hundred straws and countless bits of styrofoam. Sadly, we also found two dead turtles on Lake Cherokee, and it is possible they met their demise from consuming some of the flotsam we werent able to retrieve in time. On Lake Davis, although it was mostly free of litter, our newest volunteer, Pam, pulled some line and hooks from the reeds and certainly saved a life!... :) Next week the ECO-Action crew will be going back to Lake Howell, and the week after that well be taking on Lake Sybelia for the second time in a month with some of the volunteers at the Birds of Prey Center.
