Crime Cop (1959) by Larry Holden, a pseudonym for Lorenz Heller - TopicsExpress

Crime Cop (1959) by Larry Holden, a pseudonym for Lorenz Heller who also wrote as Frederick Lorenz, is the story of a pair of cops after a killer who has strangled and could again if they dont get the dame to spill the beans. The plot specific cover is by Harry Schaare. Fred did write under his real name on occasion. Such is the case with Hot (1956) which revolves around two brothers. Steve Ewells brother, Vince, has broken out of prison and is hiding out. Steve wants to help him, but his plan is for Vince to give up, return the money he stole, and serve out his time. Vince doesnt think that way. Complicating matters are Vinces wife, Bonnie, now the mistress of a local club owner; Doris, a woman who helped Vince before and still has a crush on him; the partner who helped Vince rob a bank but wasnt caught; the local cops; and of course the very hot weather. As a matter of fact most of his finest titles were under his real name such as 1954s The Savage Chase with this great wrap around cover by Al Rossi and I love the reds in A Rage At Sea (1957) and Hot. Id also love to know who the artists are....... so step up folks....
