Crime Incidents the past week - Not official SAPS stats -Courtesy Atlas Wednesday 7 August 2013 @23h00 Summerstrand. Two suspects allegedly involved in a crime spree between WC and Port Elizavbeth arrested after their vehicle spotted in Summerstrand. They are currently in custody at Humewood Police Station Tuesday 6 August 2013 @ 17:33 Central. A business owner, from a nightclub in Hartman Street, requested Atlas Armed Response as the premises had been burgled. Suspects had opened the front window on the left hand side of the premises and had kicked the burglar bars in. The owner confirmed that they would have to do a stock-take to confirm whether anything was missing and that he would open a case with the Police. Monday 5 August 2013 @ 07:43 Central. A home owner requested Atlas Response to attend to a burglary in Brickmakers Kloof. Suspects had forced the garage door open but were unable to gain entry. The owner did not notice that anything had been taken, but will still open a case with Police. @ 18:13 Humewood. A home owner, in Marshall Road, confirmed that they had arrived home from holiday to find that they had been burgled. Suspects had forced open the main bedroom window, kicked in the burglar bars and had entered the house. The owner reported that some items were missing and that he would be opening a case with the Police. Sunday 4 August 2013 @05:02 Humewood. Atlas Response officers investigated alarm activation from a Restaurant/Bar, in a shopping centre in Beach Road, and found that suspects had attempted to gain entry to the premises. Nothing had been stolen and a case was not opened with the Police. @14:57 Central. Atlas Response officers are dispatched to investigate panic button activation from a Bottle store in Rink Street. On arrival, it was found that two suspects had grabbed six bottles of KWV brandy worth R700 and had run away. The manager opened a case with the Police. Saturday 3 August 2013 @ 01:42 Humewood. An employee, of a business in Beach Road, pressed the panic button as there were people fighting on site. The Police arrived but withdrew as the business owner did not want to open a case. He took down the details of the men that had been fighting and confirmed that they would be paying for the damages themselves. @ 03:08 Humewood. Another fight broke out at a business property in Beach Road. One of the men was robbed of his wallet and cellphone inside the premises. Atlas confirmed that they had used their pepper spray on the men to try and calm them down. The man who had been robbed opened a case with the Police. @ 08:12 Humewood. Atlas Response reported a burglary in Marshall Road. The owners were sleeping at the time of the incident and had left their bathroom window open. The suspects had removed the burglar bars in the bathroom window and had gained entry. They took a few items and fled. Police arrived on the scene. @ 08:13 Summerstrand. A home owner alerted Atlas Response to a burglary in Dana road. Suspects had forced the back door open and entered. The owner was sleeping at the time of the incident and was woken by the burglary. He is missing a lot of items. Police were on site. Thursday 1 August 2013 @ 08:55 Central. A key holder, at an institution in Cuyler Street, contacted Atlas Control centre and requested Response as they had discovered a broken window at the premises. Response met up with the key holder on site. The window had been broken, but no entry had been gained. The owner awaited the arrival of the Police.
