Crime update! Arrest made! This afternoon, at 3:10pm, LNW Business Watch patrolman Lucky saw the suspects in the blue Toyota Corolla with reg: PNJ 311 GP, at the Pre-School in 7th str. They were again trying to steal a car there. They jumped in their car & chased off. LNW Reaction Team Fareed & John gave chase, backed up by ADT & Linden SAPS Warrants Bredenhand & Spencer. After a high speed chase, the suspects were cornered at cnr of Tana rd & 3rd ave. 1 suspect reached for a pistol & attempted to shoot at me from in their car. They hastily sped off in Barry Hertzog rd toward Jhb. They were lost at Milpark, but a few minutes later, 10 Police cars from Hillbrow SAPS chased them onto Empire rd & at cnr M1 onramp, they were stopped. 1 suspect fled on foot with the firearm. The driver was arrested. The car is also linked to an earlier theft-out-of-car at Cresta parking area, at arnd 2pm. The goods from that earlier crime was also recovered in the suspects car, as were the false number plates. The driver is in custody at Linden SAPS. A BIG thanks the LNW LBW patrolman Lucky, for being alert, & his actions that led to the ultimate arrest of the suspect & the car used to commit the crimes.
