Crimson Throwback: 30th anniversary of Wrong Way Bo. Auburn was fielding one of its best teams coming into the game while the Tide was a heavy underdog & according to legend, Perkins called his old friend Joe Namath to give the Tide team a pep talk & it motivated them to salvage a season & a win would knock Auburn out of The Sugar Bowl. In one of the most controversial moments in the rivalry, on 4th & Goal, on a pitch sweep to the right that went totally wrong when Jackson ran on the left when he was supposed to be the lead blocker for Brent Fullwood who was waxed by Rory Turner. That upset win was the turning point for the 1985 season
