Cristobal now a Category 1 Hurricane! Cristobal has been strengthening pretty steadily since noon, when they were still need 75km/h. Winds as of 9:20pm AST are sustained at 120km/h, with gusts of near 150km/h. The last couple Though earlier while still a weak tropical storm, NHC forecasts began leaning towards Cristobal being accelerated by a mid-level trough. This has not occured, and I am still confident this storm will make Category 2, and thus likely also exceed Arthur in strength. Some solutions even seem to suggest further deepening than category 2 is possible. It is hard to say where Cristobal will move, due to its unforecasted erratic motion, but I will keep you updated as I know more. ~Tykian
