Criticism is as inevitable as breathing. It fulfills the same function as pain in the human body. Like rain, it should be gentle enough to nourish a man’s growth without destroying his roots. If untrue, disregard; if unfair, keep from irritation; if ignorant, SMILE; if justified it is not criticism, LEARN from it. For I know that Forgiveness is not about letting someone off the hook. It is about lessening our own emotional burdens and healing the pain of our heart. It takes a generous spirit to understand that people do not always hurt and harm because they choose to, that it is their weaknesses that compel them to act. Heal guilt and move forward.
