Croatia v Scotland, 19:15 After six games of World Cup - TopicsExpress

Croatia v Scotland, 19:15 After six games of World Cup Qualification Group A Scotland have just two points, and anyone who thought the appointment of Gordon Strachan would mean an immediate upturn in their fortunes has been sorely disappointed to this point. Tonight the former Celtic boss takes his side to face Croatia, undefeated in six and yet to concede a goal on their home turf, where they boast a perfect record, and Strachan can probably look forward to a fairly torrid evening on the continent, given that his squad is not at full strength. So far he has seen his side lose all three away games and score just one goal in that process, so the 5/1 with VictorChandler on a 2-0 might be worth a look, with Mario Mandzukic 5/4 with the same people as an anytime scorer. Strachan may find some comfort in the fact Luka Modric misses out for Croatia, but will still have to deal with the likes of Darijo Srna and Mandzukic. The Scottish have some absentees of their own, with regular skipper Darren Fletcher still missing through injury along with a litany of names including Scott Brown, Kenny Miller, Gary Caldwell, Gordon Greer, Steven Fletcher and Charlie Mulgrew, and a point tonight would be a brilliant result.
