Crossroads thoughts of the morning. Day 2: (Please be brave and comment. I was lucky enough to be asked to be on the parent advisory committee. Fire away. I want to hear from you so that I can communicate your opinions and concerns to our principles.) 1) I would be totally annoyed and irritated if I lived across from the school and couldnt turn left. It would drive me crazy to be that close and not be able to just get home. 2) After watching drop off, I totally get why they want to make it a right turn only. It keeps the flow going so much better and things are so much more efficient when they turn right. And I think it may be too much for Hillary and Dorothy to handle once the officer is gone. Can we ask them to keep the kids crossing the street safe AND direct traffic in and out of the school both ways AND rangle all the impatient commuters trying to barrel thru....? 3) The impatient commuters.... oy vey. 4) Regardless of which way we end up doing this, people HAVE to pull all the way up to the front of the line when they drop off. I know that its nice to watch the kids walk in to the building, but it really really really slows things down. 5) Yall would be shocked at the number of kids that arent ready to get out of the car once its their turn. Surely they have had enough time to finish breakfast and GET DRESSED during the drive to school and the 5 minutes they have had to wait in the carpool line? Yes...it happens. 6) I wish we had the money for a bus parking lot of the end of the 5th grade hall way. Remove the buses from the mix and the north side can have the top lot and south side can have the bottom. Well be running smooth as butter! 7) Im starting to become completely convinced theres no way to make 700 families happy. I think the final decision has to come down to what puts the least amount of lives (and bumpers) at risk each morning. 8) Thankfully, the parking lot situation has absolutely no effect on the quality our childrens education. Cause wed be in trouble... ;)
