Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis is eyeing a move for his former Stoke City winger Matt Etherington. Pulis will look to strengthen his Palace side in January as he looks to keep them in the Premier League. He could turn to Etherington who has not been holding down a first team place at Stoke this season.Pulis has never been relegated as a manager but last weekend’s win at Hull City has given Palace hope. The ex-Britannia Stadium boss is likely to turn to players he trusts from his time at Stoke when he beat the odds to keep the Potters in the top flight for five seasons in a row.Pulis took Etherington to Stoke from West Ham United in 2009. But the former Tottenham Hotsupr winger’s contract is up this season and Pulis will be aware of that. Etherington is grateful to Stoke and Pulis for putting his career back on track at a time when he was fighting gambling problems. The 32-year-old has started just five Premier League games this season.Etherington was linked with a move to Championship side Millwall before the start of the season - but the player denied he was heading to The Den.
