Cultural symposium in Darjeeling Khambu Rais exhibits eligibility for Schedule tribe Darjeeling, July 27: In an extensive crowd of Khambu Rais at GDNS hall of Darjeeling, KKRSS, the association of Khambu Rai of Darjeeling hills, highlighted their distinct culture, Khambu Rai languages, script, history, Mundhum etc. during the symposium held in Darjeeling today. The programme was presided over by Dr. Jiwan Namdum, distinguished literary personality of Darjeeling hills. Renowned religious experts of Khambu Rai culture from Darjeeling hills explained about the Mundhum, Khambu languages, scripts and history. Nepali research scholars from Kathmandu on Mundhum, Khambu languages, script etc. presented their researched and analytical views over the given subjects. Khambu members from Bhutan, Bihar, Assam, Mizoram and all over Darjeeling hills and Dooars witnessed the symposium. Symposium also included the Tribal issue of Khambu Rai. Pranay Rai, Ex MLA, Public Prosecutor of Darjeeling, explained the legal aspects of Schedule Tribe issues in India during the symposium. KKRSS is likely to publish the details of today’s symposium in a book form shortly.
