Cuomo sounds here as if he was talking about the US today. Social Darwinism is not consistent with American values in my opinion (and there is no question its not consistent with Christain values, so the paradox of that argument remains a head scratcher). If Im saddened by the lack of leaders like Cuomo there are among the Democrats these days, Im (quite ironically for me, considering how much I despised him on most fronts) more alarmed by how much further from Reagan (in terms of compassion and responsibility) the leaders are among Republicans these days, A presidential candidate who works for all Americans, as if they all mattered...thats what Id like to see emerge as the election heats up this coming year. americanrhetoric/speeches/mariocuomo1984dnc.htm
