DAILY SUN TODAY EXPELLED ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema has claimed the ANC has invited him back into politics. “They (ANC) invited me back into politics. Had they left me with my cabbages in the villages, they wouldn’t have this headache,” Malema said in a radio interview with SAFM yesterday. Malema, without being specific, apologised to President Jacob Zuma for the insults he hurled at him. But he apologised to the nation for having supported Zuma, saying it was a terrible mistake. “What happened in Polokwane was a terrible mistake. We want to apologise to South Africans for giving them a president like Zuma,” he said. To Zuma personally, he said: “At times we got very angry to a point where we said things we shouldn’t have said to an old veteran of the liberation movement. “We apologise to him, but we don’t apologise for disagreeing with him on policy direction and his leadership style.” He praised businessman Kenny Kunene for the open letter to Zuma and warned those in the ANC who’re attacking him. He said: “There are people in the ANC who did worse things than Kenny. If they continue to pepereza (shoot their mouths off) we will expose them. “Kenny shouldn’t be ashamed of what he did and what he wants.” He said Limpopo Premier Cassel Mathale had advised him against launching a political party.
