DANCE CLASSES FOR CHILDREN - BABIES/JK/SK If you have a young child who would like to try a dance class, but you hesitate to commit to a whole term of classes, this is the perfect chance to try it out. The Movement Workshop Week-End 2 days of classes and workshops for all ages, no experience required. The classes we will be offering for children include: Check out our website for details and registration info. intergalacticarts.wordpress MAMA DANCES Sat. & Sun 10:00 am - 10:45 am MamaDances’ Mom and Baby class brings mothers (dads/parents/grandparents/ guardians) together with their babies in a temporary community of music, playful physical exercise, creative dance expression, exploration and connection. It is a simple activity designed to unlock, motivate and engage kinetic, physical energy, while being with your baby. The classes draws from various sources including Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Releasing Technique, Pilates, Yoga, and Ballet, Creative, Modern and Cultural dance forms. Babies can be 2-12 months old and experience in movement techniques is not required to participate. It is open to all. Please bring comfortable loose-fitting clothing, a yoga mat, baby carrier and a throwing blanket. DANCING FOR CHILDREN JK/SK Sat. & Sun 11:00 am - 11:45 am A fun and playful class that uses songs and age-appropriate movement exercises and games to get children dancing. Both led by Jessica Runge Jessica Runge is an award-winning professional independent dancer, choreographer, and arts educator based in Toronto. She has been creating and performing dance works to critical acclaim across Canada and internationally for over twenty years, and has had the opportunity to collaborate with many notable Canadian dancers and choreographers. She is currently working on a new solo project titled Possibilities. For over ten years, Runge has been teaching children dance in a variety of settings, including at numerous elementary schools in the GTA and as frequent artist on the Ontario Arts Council’s roster. At the IGAC studio, Runge offers children’s after-school dance classes; and starting in the spring of 2014, she will also offer classes for parents and children.
