DAY 3 of the 5/3 Artists Challenge. Today my muse, Carly Strickland and my artist nomination, (see her work at Carly Strickland - Book & Cover Design), are one in the same. Ive painted her (& Kyle) more times than I can count. They are my favorite subjects. Theyre theatrical, playful, creative and contribute to the painting in amazing ways. People ask me how I can bear to part with the work, but to be a professional artist requires that you let the work go to others that will love it as much as you do. So really it was a simple easy choice. Several of my paintings of her have won accolades, I say its because she is a great model, She says its because she claims the best ideas from my journal for her to model. But, then again it could just be the love bouncing around the studio :)
