DAYO AWUDE FOR HOUSE OF REPS: MY FOUR POINT AGENDA Again, I - TopicsExpress

DAYO AWUDE FOR HOUSE OF REPS: MY FOUR POINT AGENDA Again, I have come before the good people of Akure North and South Federal Constituency, with my Four-Point Programmes towards the February 14, 2015, election. These are my campaign plans and the platforms on which I want to be evaluated. 1. Adequate Constituency Consultation and Town Hall Meetings: The soul of any legislative business is to truly represent the people of the constituency. I will not just represent you by name, I will represent you by consulting with you regularly. I will hold Town Hall Meetings with you, my constituents. I will visit you to collate ideas and your needs. Apart from these, our constituency offices in the two Local Governments will be operational and fully functional in actualising our mandate. Indeed, my voice at the National Assembly shall be that of my constituents. 2. Effective and Efficient Representation: We all have seen a lot in the National Assembly. So many bench warmers and in fact, absentee representatives. When you elect me, the era of bench warming will be over. Life transforming bills will be sponsored on your behalf. Your voice in the National Assembly will be heard and very loud too. I will not abdicate my duty post. I will not be an absentee representative. As a member of Parliament in my University days, repenting Sultan Bello Hall (1995/96), in the University of Ibadan Student Union Government, I remain one of the very few representatives who attended virtually all the sittings of the Students Representatives Council. The attendance records are there to bear me out. 3. Delivery on Constituency Projects: One core and indeed controversial area in the Legislature is the Constituency Projects. I will ensure proper budgetary provision and monitor the delivery of the projects to our people. The people of Akure North and South will not have projects only on paper. We will translate our plans to action and physically verifiable projects. I put it on record today, that by the grace of God, I have been able to attract many government projects to Ward 6, Akure North, which is my political base. It is in my character to work for my people, and when given the chance, I will do same for the people of Akure North and South. 4. Personal Community Development Projects: In my appointive capacities, first as the State Chief of Protocol and later the Chairman, Ondo State Scholarship Board, I made personal developmental drive my area of focus. It is on record today that I have provided drinkable/potable water to over twenty (20) communities, namely: Alayere, Alasoadura, Oyin-iloro. Agbelere, Bolorunduro, Adejimi, Kajola, Ajegunle, Elehin meta, Ajegunle II, Ajebamidele, Eleyowo, Araromi, Owode, Ilu-abo, etc. I have also, by the grace of God, been able to do a lot in the area of education of the younger ones by distributing books, facilitating academic scholarship and providing infrastructural facilities in many schools like, Alakunre Comprehensive High School, Akure South, (my Alma Matter), Ilu-Abo High School, Akure North, Christ College Bolorunduro, Akure North, among others. For me, this is a familiar terrain and a cause to which I am committed. I intend to continue with this when elected in to the House of Representatives. Our communities and villages will have a touch of the Awudes grassroots commitment. We have done it before, we will do it again. When you send me there, I will make a difference, God helping me.
