DAZZLING MIRAGE: She was 19,lanky and sickly.Her friends in secondary school had branded her ice fish and truly,the name fitted the look.She was so slim and always sick.On one of her sick episodes,her teacher out of concern alerted the school authority and she was rushed to the hospital.Funmiyo was diagnosed with sickle cell amnemia.Her world seemed to have collapsed.The future she was envisaging became a dazzling mirage.Who could she blame?her parents? Anytime she had any of those attacks,she would be in great,excruciating pains.Pains that would leave her body weaker and more fragile than before.She struggled past childhood and now at 21,the story was still the same.Pains,depression,rejection but Funmiyo would stop at nothing to make it through. When Mike came forth for marriage,it was a battle of words,wealth and affluence but still Mike pulled through it.Funmiyo is a miracle today,married with three kids whore all non-sicklers,she looks back at life few years back where everything looked like a dazzling mirage.All her dreams and aspirations that seemed to have crashed down,got back on their feet.Things fell into place for her.Mike always there for her and her strong faith in God,life became real,not a mirage.
