DCISD will have a 2 hour delay on Monday, November 25, 2013. Classes will begin at 10:00 a.m., therefore teachers and staff will need to report to your campuses by 9:45. Custodial staffs will need to be at your locations at regular time in order to prepare buildings and sidewalks. Breakfast will not be served due to the late arrival. Morning Pre-K students will meet from 10-12:15 a.m. and Afternoon Pre-K students will meet from 12:30-2:45 p.m. They will be served lunch. Parents of Pre-K students, notes will be sent home on Monday with information concerning your students’ meeting times on Tuesday and Wednesday. In addition, the area football game against Bangs has been postponed once again until TUESDAY, November 26, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at San Angelo Stadium in San Angelo, Tx. The UIL has approved a special waiver for this to allow for safe travel of both communities. Because of this change, DCISD will have an early release on Tuesday to accommodate students, teachers and staff that wish to travel to San Angelo. We will also have the “regularly scheduled” early release on Wednesday for the Thanksgiving holiday. The winner of the DC-Bangs football game will face Eastland on MONDAY, December 2nd. The UIL rules stipulate that teams must have 5 days between games. Since we are playing on Tuesday, 5 days will not elapse until Sunday. Since games are not permitted on Sunday, the next possible date will be Monday.
