DEAR CHURCH, Hi. CAN WE CHAT ABOUT SOMETHING? As part of the body of Christ I want to address two issues that I believe have been deliberately and grossly misrepresented and misunderstood. I say deliberately because I believe that both misconceptions have been taught and encouraged in an attempt to exercise some form of control. However without digressing too far into the trappings of man made religion, let me stay on point. So here goes... 1. Conformity is not an identity! Conformity might result in popularity and security but it will also always result in unfulfilled destiny. Identity... Understanding it and embracing it unlocks your destiny. •Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2 NIV) 2. Popularity is not influence! A crowd doesnt make you a leader. It makes you an entertainer. Popularity often masquerades itself as influence. True influence is measured not in numbers but in followers. •When Jesus saw his ministry drawing huge crowds, he climbed a hillside. Those who were apprenticed to him, the committed, climbed with him. Arriving at a quiet place, he sat down and taught his climbing companions.(Matthew 5:1, 2 MSG) Thanks. •Food for thought for our family.
