DECEPTIONS NOT CHANGE! The path that led to our present as a nation should not be repeated or forgotten. The problem with Nigeria is the blatant refusal to address the ills of our ethnic politics. Until this is done in a truly representative conference, deceptions as being fashioned by the noisy opposition of today will at best be a musical cheers and cheers for the music. That will increase our hardship. It is our hypocrisy and regional focus that continues to drain our union. Ala Robert Quinn, “until a nation becomes purpose centered, internally directed, other focused and externally open..”, our dream as a people for true positive change will remain elusive. The non-manifesto persuasion I see in the APC opposition now garnished with apostate necromancy, an unruly yoking and mixture of obvious generational thieves chanting the change slogan is an abysmal assembly of the enemies of our union trying to take turns flaunting a deceptive change. Was it not Edward Murrow who identified such persuasion and cautioned as follow, “to be persuasive we must be believable; to be believable, we must be credible; credible we must be truthful”. Does any of the faces on those aisles speak or appeal to us as a nation as true agents of change or indeed nihilist? Abraham Lincoln summarized my position thus, “nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power”; that we have done to Buhari and his appendages and the answers are unpalatable at the mention of that name Buhari! Can we please ask Buhari his plans on all he said he will do when greats like US, UK, France etc. are still fighting decades of wars on terror and global economic down turn. While his Jihad rages, will Osibanjo conjure signs and wonders or compromise to making us all caliphates? Adding religion to an already convoluted situation is laughable, especially doing so in quick succession- Bakare, Osinbanjo and next- Mbaka! Did our bible not teach that two cannot walk together except they agree? Then who is fooling who? The few things GEJ has done are structures indicative of direction. Let us be wise and retire Buhari and his pastor tricks. Ka Chineke mezie okwua.
