DEMO DAY REPORT! THE HYPE IS REAL! We ended up with 30-40 players who came out to play the game. I cant stress this next point enough: ~!~FORCE OF WILL IS COMING OUT AT A PERFECT TIME AND IS EXTREMELY WELL POSITIONED.~!~ Why do I say that? MTG just got a new set. Guess what? Its terrible and people are bored with the game. Ive heard the same thing from YGO players today. Both play groups seem extremely interested. Now something about the decks. Dracula: This deck IS NOT new player friendly when matched up against Snow White. The decks -ARE- fairly balanced -IF- both players know how to play the demo decks perfectly. Dracula is more of a combo based deck and hard to play. MTG Veterans will probably be okay with this deck but I WOULD NOT FOR ANY REASON give it to someone who is not. This deck is not nearly as flashy or auto pilot as snow white can be at times, but is a very fun deck to play when done properly. Snow White: This is basically just your Light/Fire rush aka Mono-beats aka super aggressive game. Turn 2 Judgement? While seems pretty amazing, actually isnt the best thing the deck can do which I found to be surprising after playing a couple games. Chump blocking is at an all time high for this game. This demo deck I would strongly recommend for players who are just getting into the game and just want to turn dudes sideways. Overall Im sure Snow White has a slight edge, but it can be negated by player skill. We had an amazing time today and had a great turn out. Will probably do a couple more super awesome demo days before Feb 13, but now more than ever am I pumped to see this game launch. As of today, were on pace to have ~20 active tournament players if we can keep the hype up. TL;DR 1) FOW is releasing at a perfect time - people want a new game. 2) Dracula isnt new player friendly. 3) Snow White is 4) Get your LGS involved. MAKE. IT. HAPPEN.
