DESPERATE MOVES The embattled Meru Governor Peter Gatiraus woes are multiplying with each new day. Even as his supporters continue to make the loudest noise in the villages and on social media, political observers aver that hes not off the hook yet. The recent days have seen him move up and down desperately as he seeks to answer glaring facts that point to his ineptitude, inability to perform, corruption and general incompetence. Last week was an interesting one for the outgoing governor. After EACC visited his office and carried away files that have crucial evidence that could lead to his prosecution over abuse of office, Munya and his shenanigans were seen roaming as they desperately sought ways of thwarting the investigations by the EACC. In one of the awkward and retrogressive thing to have been committed by a leader, Munyas folks took a bull to Njuri ncheeke to curse the EACC regional boss Mr. Japhet B. Alaine for attempting to bring down our Meru leader. But guided by wisdom, the elders threw out the case and fined those behind it for trying to undermine a government officer who is carrying out his duties. Munyas petty advisers and blind followers thought they could manipulate elders to settle their personal scores with a highly respected public servant, Mr Alaine, who comes from the same place with the outgoing governor. To make matters worse, they had paraded their women to strip outside the EACCs boss home but their archaic moves were thwarted by the police who kept vigil at his compound. Munya being a lazy bone, he is at pains to show the Meru residents what he has done in his one year in office. The only weapon left in their hands is propaganda and lies. In the past two weeks, MCAs and Munyas followers have been moving around Tigania East where he has not initiated even a single project, claiming Hon Aburis projects have been initiated by the governor. A case in point is the ongoing road construction projects in all wards that Munyas folks are desperately lying to the people that are being funded by the county govt. But the nasty thing with this kind of propaganda is that they are being ashamed the moment we are going on the ground to tell people the truth. Last Sunday, I attended one of the bursary issuing meeting organized by one MCA and I put him to task to explain to people what the county government has done in the one year. The guy was so embarrassed that he denounced their common agenda to stand by Munya and declared that hes not campaigning for him and added that people are at liberty to support whoever they want. In the ward meetings being organized by MCAs to drum up support for Munya, every attendant is paid kshs 500 from the public coffers. Sub-county administrators are tasked with issuing allowances to the attendants. I am therefore calling on all patriots of Meru County to join hands together so that we may install the right leadership that our county deserves. The continued plundering of our resources will leave our county on its knees and we shall leave the burden of underdevelopment to the future generations. This is a wake up call to all sons and daughters of Meru to support the ongoing process of ensuring Munya and his brigade are confined to where they belong.
