DESPITE HER GREATNESS SHE HAD A GREAT PROBLEM! Prepared by Pastor Charles Chanda: Pretoria, South Africa 2Ki 4:8 And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. Andso it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread. The Shunnamite woman was a great woman but she had a great problem, as she had no children. She represents many people today who despite their greatness are nursing problems they have no power over. Sin, Sickness ans Spirits have troubled many and for the majority they are left wounded as no solutions seems to come near them. The message today is given by the Lord to attend to all such problems in Jesus Name. Great Problems that Great People Face! 1. SIN! 2Ki 4:14 And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no child, and her husband is old. As a result of the great problem she had, her greatness was nothing to her. Here what she told the man of God: 2Ki 4:13 And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people. SIN KNOWS NO GREATNESS! *Politicians Sin! Exo 9:27 And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: the LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked. *Church people Sin! Exo 32:30 Sin does not need to make an appointment to enter the palace or state house. Pharaoh sinned and was not ashamed to confess. Num 21:7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. 1Ch 21:8 And David said unto God, I have sinned greatly, because I have done this thing: but now, I beseech thee, do away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly. *Children Sin! Job 8:4 If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression; *Parents Sin! Isa 43:27 Thy first father hath sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me. Lam 5:7 Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities. *Righteous People Sin! Eze 18:24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die. *Everyone in the world has sinned! Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 2. SICKNESS! *Great Men of God Can be Sick! 2Ki 13:14 Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. *Political Leaders can be Sick! 2Ch 21:14 Behold, with a great plague will the LORD smite thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy goods: 15. And thou shalt have great sickness by disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out by reason of the sickness day by day. *Faithful Church People can also be sick! Jhn 11:4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. 3. SPIRITUAL OPPRESSION! *Political Leaders Who are not followers of God are sometimes under the influence of Evil Spirits 1Sa 16:14 But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him. 1Sa 16:23 And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him. *Unconverted Souls are sometimes under the control of Evil Spirits Act 19:16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. *Some problems that people face are as a result of Evil Spirits Luk 13:16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day? CHRIST HAS POWER OVER SIN, SICKNESS AND SPIRITS! *Jesus Can Convert Your Sinful Life into a Righteous Life Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Mar 2:10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) Luk 5:24 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house. 1Jo 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Why don’t you surrender your life to Jesus today. Tomorrow may be too late. The Spirit of God bids you come today. Do not procrastinate the decision. *Jesus Can Heal You Today! Mat 12:15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all; Luk 6:19 And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all. Mat 4:24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto himall sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them. By the stripes of Christ we are healed and every sickness or disease that is upon you whether cure able or incurable, I command it to get out of your body right now in Jesus Name. *Jesus Can Set You Free! Mat 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. Mar 1:39 And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils. Luk 11:20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you. Act 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. Deliverance has come to you in Jesus Name. LET US PRAY: Father in the Name of Jesus I bring every one that has acknowledged sin that you forgive them in Jesus Name. I pray that you remove sickness from the bodies of those who have read this message and believed your word in Jesus Name. I cast out every evil spirit that is troubling anyone who has read this message in Jesus Name. I bind every spirit husband and spirit wife that has been causing havoc in marriages in Jesus Name. Set your people free in Jesus Name. In Jesus Name I pray!
