DEVASTATED * Totally, Totally DEVASTATED I have scrimped and saved for many months to get my system out of the Jaycar Electronics repair shop at Mount Barker. Previously paid the $99 (well Louise paid it for me) at the time of dropping it for repairs. Damage was done during an electrical storm and had to wait for a insurance cheque to be issued from the ETSA. This took over ten months ... I paid an additional $70 off the contracted $400 repair bill ... due to ill health and other financial constraints I was unable to finalize the account until today. Only to be told by the "Just Fix it"(Jaycar franchise) owner that mey only keep computers in store for 3 - 6 months and that it has been SCRAPPED/ Thrown away and that was clearly specified on the contract I signed ... ... but I never recieved a copy of the contract and also, they never contacted me ... although we check the phone number he had on record. Then, there was a dispute that Louise never paid him the $99 service fee (I was there) and that I still owe him $29 (as I had already paid $70) off it. WTF? I am out a $1000 plus computer, two hard drives (240 GB anbd 120 GB) irreplaceable documents, videos, music, photos and programs on the hard-drives, A Graphic card, power case and Mother board which had to be replace. $99 service fee and $70 I paid him to hold onto it for me. All I have for my efforts and dealing with Jaycar is stress ...no computer and lost data DEVASTATED A Current Affair Today Tonight Adelaide Dignity for Disability
