DEVELOPMENT INNOVATIONS TALENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM The Development Innovations Talent Development Program (TDP) develops local talents capable of creating local solutions. The program places selected Young Professionals in local civil society organizations (CSOs) and companies to support defined projects focused on addressing development challenges through ICTs. Young Professionals receive training; ongoing support and mentorship from Development Innovations; a modest stipend; and a network of like-minded individuals passionate about the potential of technology to make a better Cambodia. Duration: 1 month training, 8 months placement in an organization Time commitment: Minimum of 40 hours per week Location: Phnom Penh with potential travel to provinces as needed Number of Young Professionals: 14 Stipend: 300USD/month OVERVIEW FOR YOUNG PROFESSIONALS IT and Technology Development Young Professionals: 7 Young Professionals Eligibility: • Must have completed undergraduate studies in IT, technology development (web and mobile app development), interface design, and/or communications and/or media • Committed to contributing to the success of the TDP Partner Organization and specific project • Some work experience in civil society, SMS and IVR platform, or IT preferred • Some work experience in creating messages and contents for impact through social media channels and understanding of information security preferred • Some work experience in data analysis and database management preferred • Desire to learn and work in ICT4D to improve life in Cambodia • Able to commit to the full term of the TDP • High level of English proficiency • Commitment to work in the ICT4D field in Cambodia for 2 years following the program • Cambodian citizen • Women are encouraged to apply Communication, Research, Marketing and M&E Young Professionals: 7 Young Professionals Eligibility: • Must have completed undergraduate studies in IT, interface design, communication, research, marketing, social studies, M&E and/or management • Committed to contributing to the success of the TDP Partner Organization and specific project • Some work experience in civil society preferred • Some work experience in creating messages and contents for impact through social media channels and understanding of information security preferred • Some work experience in data analysis and database management preferred • Desire to learn and work in ICT4D to improve life in Cambodia • Able to commit to the full term of the TDP • High level of English proficiency • Commitment to work in the ICT4D field in Cambodia for 2 years following the program • Cambodian citizen • Women are encouraged to apply Benefits for all Young Professionals include: • Initial training on ICT4D, project design, management and communication • Weekly meetings with Development Innovations Innovation Advisor • Mentorship from Cambodian and/or international experts • Monthly meeting with all Young Professionals to share learning • Priority access to Development Innovations’ workshops and events • Full use of the Development Innovations Lab and meeting rooms • Opportunities to present work at events and online • Participation in Development Innovations TDP Alumni Network • Work experience in Civil Society and Private Sector Expectations of all Young Professionals: • Be committed to utilizing ICTs to make a better Cambodia • Be professional and respect the policies of your TDP Partner organization • Meet deadlines • Communicate challenges to the supervisor before they become a problem • Attend all Development Innovations required training and meetings • Update Development Innovations weekly (at a minimum) • Ask for help or clarification when needed • Submit TDP Final Report at end of program To apply to be a Young Professional in the TDP: - Submit a cover letter and CV to Mr. Theng Vibol at vibol_theng@dai. - Complete the Young Professional Application TEMPLATE which you can download from https://socialinnovationlab.wufoo.eu/forms/apply-to-join-the-talent-development-program/ and submit it online. - Please indicate in your cover letter which type of Young Professionals you are applying for (IT and Technology Development Young Professionals or Communication, Research, Marketing and M&E Young Professionals), and answer why you want to be part of this program. - Deadline: July 11, 2014.
