DEVELOPMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION NOT IN PRIORITY LIST OF SOUTHWEST GOVERNORS.. Go to most of our State Institutions the only visible infrastructure development projects you found ongoing are TETFUND financed projects, while most of the office equipments are also mundane and as old as the Institutions . State government who are the proprietors of these Institutions no longer construct structures nor give grants to enable the institutions swim above the deep sea of economic odds whereas,the IGR that should have been complimenting development of infrastructures are now been used to pay staff emoluments. I stand to be corrected that things were not these bad even under the Military . Where then is the dividend of democracy we all fought hard to gain. What surprise me most is the fact that politicians in South western Nigeria always claim ascendancy of the Late sage free education programme to cajole the electorates. Even the satan can quote the scripture than the pope. We need to remind them that the Great Ife where I am a proud Alumnus was built by the regional government of Action group before been taken over by the Federal Government ...today that institutions is regarded as African most beautiful campus. That was the foundation laid by Awo and his team. Let our Governors know that much is being expected from whoever want to govern Southwest states in area of education advancement. Enough of paying lips services to education despite the commercialisation of the sector.
