DEXTER WAS SURRENDERED BECAUSE THE OWNERS WERE MOVING!!! This makes me so sad....CAN ANYBODY FOSTER OR RESCUE HIM? Dexter A22242804: 10 year old male Rat Terrier X 25 lbs. is at the SSPCA and in need of rescue. Snoopy was surrendered because his owners are moving. They purchased him ten years ago from a breeder. He is listed as house and crate trained and was kept indoors 8 hours/ day. His owners wrote that his favorite activity is playing ball. He lived with two teenaged children and loved them. His owners wrote that he usually growls at strangers. At the shleter, Dexter has not shown any aggression, however, he also will not interact with staff at all. He appears to possibly be owner searching and will not make any connection with people that try to interact with him. His attention can not be won over with treats or toys or affection. We hope that in a normal home environment, he will learn to connect and love a new family. He is paired up with other dogs and doing fine with them. He appears to be in excellent health, despite his age.
