DFW (Sun 10/12 9:45 pm): some of the new data are indicating ridiculously high rainfall totals tonight. Ive already been forecasting 2 to 4 inches of rain, but some of the mesoscale models have been indicating as much as 5 to 8 inches of rain by 7 am. That scenario is probably a bit extreme, but if thunderstorms train over the metroplex for several hours, there certainly could be some very large rainfall amounts. No changes to my previous forecast graphics. Thunderstorms are developing to the west, and will overspread the area within the next couple of hours.
