DISTURBING Another radical Islamic sect emerges in Niger state Posted By TheScoop on August 15, 2013 by Dare Lawal Reports from Niger state say that another radical Islamic sect called ‘Kalo Kato’ are now gradually using Uregi-Kongoma and Kwana- Mariga of Rafi local government area of the state as a base just four years after the Nıger State Government dıslodged another Islamıc sect Darrusalam from Bokanı ın the state. According to reports, the members of the ‘Kalo Kato’ sect are mostly foreigners from Nıger Republıc but were invited by an Islamic scholar in Pandogaeı ın Rhe local government area. The teachings of the sect are not conventional established Islamic teachings based on the Quran and Hadıth. Leadership Neswpaper reports that: The members who sources said, came to the area few days before the Ramadan do not believe ın the Hadıth but only what ıs contained ın the holy Quran. In order not to cause apprehension among the people, the secretary of Kalgara Emirate council Abdullahi Bala Kagara, told LEADERSHIP that last week the emirate invited the leaders of the sect to a meeting wıth the securıty agencies. He saıd the emırate had sent learned Islamıc scholars and leaders to clarify issues with the sect members on their mode of preachıng ın order not to cause any breach of securıty. Accordıng to hım, “We are monitoring them and we have also brought this to the notice of all the security agencies. We have identified the leader of the sect as Abdulkadir Suwaba who has been residing in Pandogeri area of the emirate for years”.
