#DMB #bartender If I go before I’m old; Oh brother of mine please don’t forget me if I go; Bartender please, fill my glass for me; With the wine you gave Jesus that set him free, after three days in the ground I have had amazing experiences with this song, and what aligns me with Daves writing so much is his unabashed attempts at trying to reveal his early Christian up-bringing with his 21st century singing soul. #beenThereDoingThat The allegory, the metaphors, the #supplication, the staying open to all corners of love, is true. I was literally baptized last year with this song (at about 4:32 here in this clip, where you can spin, feel transported) on the very, very, wet lawn of Hartford, CT, pouring rain, dancing my ass off, while I let my life rain down on me #neverforgetThatMoment. He has added (not this this clip) to this song: God is not above you, not above you which adds more to the soak. The bartender, to who we speak at that hour, in-between this life and the next, may OUR will be done.
