DO IT..plete your Group health insurance application on time, or you will be LOCKED OUT, until your next enrollment period or special enrollment. Just happened.... Employee didnt complete the application because he didnt get around to it, even though Employer provided many times. Employee went to the ER ($20K) and now wants to get insurance. Guess what....he never completed the application and missed his deadlines, so he is paying for it himself. He cant get on again until open/annual enrollment in 2015. Keep in mind, in previous years he could have gotten on, but with a pre-x clause. He has no options for insurance in 2014. He doesnt want short term med coverage either. He will also pay a penalty too!!!
