DO NOT FORGET Do not forget Gaza. Do not forget how the media dehumanized the lives of 2,145 people who were slaughtered and the 11,000 who have been irreversibly injured. Do not forget how the media has tried to justify their slaughter and injuries. Do not forget that 89 families in Gaza have been systematically wiped out by Israel during this latest onslaught. Do not forget that as many as 1,500 children may have been orphaned by Israeli attacks that killed their parents (UN). Do not forget that 6,000 children will have a parent with a lifelong disability (UN). Do not forget that 519 of those slaughtered were innocent children who had just come into this world. And 3,106 of them remain critically maimed and scarred for life. One out of every 4 massacred was a child. Do not forget that most children 7 and younger in Gaza have lived their entire lives under Israel’s suffocating, illegal siege and blockade, and 3 Israeli onslaughts. Do not forget how the world’s fourth largest military power savagely bombarded and terrorized 1.8 million people in a besieged strip of land by air, land and sea. Do not forget that Israel fired 35,000 artillery shells and 14,500 tank shells. That’s almost 1,000 shells every day against a people without a military, navy or fighter jets. Do not forget how the victims were the ones who were painted as savages. Do not forget the 500,000+ in Gaza who have been internally displaced and who are now homeless because Israeli Occupation Forces rendered more than 20,000 homes uninhabitable by shelling and air strikes. Do not forget that the Palestinian people have been forcibly displaced from their homes, massacred and maimed for over 66 years now, making them the largest and longest-standing refugee population in the world. Do not forget the 370,000+ children who were terrorized and traumatized and are now in desperate need of direct and specialized psychosocial support. Do not forget the deafening silence of world “leaders” and officials who continue to play the role of the three proverbial monkeys. Do not forget that the U.S. helped Israel to develop its defense system (including the Iron Dome, Magic Wand and Arrow systems). The cost has been $3 billion with more than $1.3 billion alone for the Iron Dome. Do not forget that Washington sends $3.1 billion in military aid every year, and how Congress passed $225 million in supplementary aid for Israel to repair the Iron Dome missile defense system so that it could carry on with its genocidal campaign unabated, slaughtering innocent men, women and children. Do not forget that this “operation” was not meant to only stop resistance rockets but was deliberately calculated to destroy, exterminate and erase a people. To bomb them into oblivion. Do not forget that there still remains an illegal military occupation in place and civilians remain caged on regulated grounds. Do not forget that Israel is a terrorist state that has focused on power and pain, gaining and inflicting since its inception. That grieves nothing and takes everything – land, liberty and lives. Do not forget the role we all play. Do not forget that we all have a voice and choices to make. #BDS Do not forget how a resistance movement stood up to the world’s 4th strongest military… and won. Do not forget that each drop of blood that tyrants spill will remain immortal flames in their conscience and will continue to uphold the sacred will of the oppressed to live on and resist. Do not forget the hundreds of thousands who took to the streets in solidarity with Gaza, and who never hesitated to show their unwavering support and solidarity to the Palestinian people. Who chose to stand on the right side of history. Do not forget Gazas inspiring resistance and resilience. Do not forget Palestine and its noble struggle for justice. Do not forget the freedom fighters who sparked a revival in the people of the world. Do not forget.
