DO YOU KNOW THAT - Nigeria has Active Power Genration Stations with capacity of about 13,000Mega Wats. And on-going projects of additional 3,000 Meg Wats. All that the Government needs to do is to tackle the 4 major issues listed below, that have been affecting Power generation and distribution in Nigeria. You dont need to go back 30 years down the lane to look for a magician to fix this. All we need is to work together with the Government. Keep them on their toes if possible, but not to look back. All the three tiers of government are members of the NIPP, a body that is following this approach to resolve the power issues. The NIPP initiative was founded on the following arguments: 1. Aging generation assets with poor maintenance record, increasing break-down frequencies, decreasing service reliability. Years of under-investment in transmission infrastructure, leading to acute deficiencies in the wheeling capacity of the national grid; frequent improvisations which compromise grid integrity and occasional cases of stranded generation. 3. Abundance of gas as a fuel for power generation. - We have enough Gas but Vandals would not allow it to get to the Turbines. 4. System and process inefficiencies associated with the operating structure in the industry with several points of leakages and losses, leading to loss of system sustainability.
