Donations and entries will be accepted through March 15. For every $150 raised, we will give away a $25 certificate (max of two certificates). We will match your name with the donation. Paulies Story: In October 2013, Paulie, the 2-year-old son of our Facebook fan, was diagnosed with T-Cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). He became high risk on day 29 of treatment and by testing positive for minimal residual disease (this causes relapse, which ultimately reduces the chance of survival). To honor Paulie and all other children fighting for their lives, she has joined a local St. Baldricks event in Altmar, NY. At the event, she and many others will shave their heads in solidarity with children fighting cancer. Information about St. Baldricks and Childhood Cancer: St. Baldricks raises money specifically for childhood cancer, one of the most underfunded cancers. Every year, the national cancer institute receives close to $5 billion dollars in funding for cancer research; however, all 12 types of childhood cancer combined receive only 4% of that amount. Pediatric cancer is the number one killer of children. According to the St. Baldricks Foundation: Every 3 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer; 1 in 5 children diagnosed will not survive; 2 out of 3 will suffer long-term effects from treatment. Thank you!
